I've had great results and my guest enjoy. The scones I made for work are smaller, weighing 80 grams, as there are also a lot of other breakfast items available for buffet such as croissants, muffins and Danish. Turn it out onto a lightly floured counter. You can either brush the finishing glaze over the entire disk and then cut it into edges or glaze individual wedges after cutting. Scones are a type of rich, slightly savory pastry that is often served at breakfast or tea, especially in Britain.

I dressed the loaf up a bit by sprinkling the top with rolled oats and brown sugar. Cool and serve. 1/2 tsp baking soda 4 T butter, melted & cooled 2 tbs light brown sugar 6 T orange or lemon marm. or Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. While the dough rose, I preheated the oven to 375 degrees. Place scones onto prepared baking tray, 1cm apart. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, supple and elastic; about 10 minutes.

For cut scones: Pat the dough 3/4" thick. It’s more the consistency of a drop biscuit. I cut racquetball sized chunks of dough (larger than golf balls, smaller than tennis balls) then rolled them into balls in my well-floured hands. We really enjoyed them and I can’t wait to try some of the variations in the other comments! I loved its intense orange flavor with the crunchiness and nuttiness of the pecans. Divide the dough into 2 pieces and roll each piece out separately to a 1/2" thickness.

Bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until muffins are light and springy to the touch. After reheating for subsequent meals until darker golden brown, they were done just right. Cream Scones have constantly been on my never ending to-bake-list. Well, I think to myself, I’ll just make some pancakes right away; then wait 30 minutes to see if the batter thickens, like pancake batter (and 100% whole wheat batters) often do. Will my white whole wheat pie crust still be flaky? For a simply chocolate coating place a sealed bag of chocolate chips in hot water - squeezing occasionally to mix. A drinking glass or other cutter with rounded edges will compress the sides of the scones and inhibit proper rising. If the butter melts or softens before baking, the resulting biscuits will be hard and flat.)
