Blue vervain is a Missouri native perennial which typically grows 2-4' tall (less frequently to 6') and features pencil-like spikes (2-6" long) of tiny, densely-packed, purplish-blue flowers (1/8" wide) from July-September. Long arrowhead shaped foliage most often veined with pewter. Z5 This variety has dark pinkish red flowers with long petal spurs that are barely white tipped and overlapping sepals that are almost as long.
