Same incredibly dependable performance as other cantabrigiense BUT possibly the shortest. This plant should not be confused with the wax begonias and tuberous begonias, which are not hardy in Georgia. Female flowers are typically receptive before the anthers release pollen, a cross pollination incentive known as protogyny. Although there is much in flower (in fact a wonderful time of year for all those late flowering perennials), things are gradually closing down. There are hundreds of varieties, appropriate for any landscape, including extremes in sun, soil, and moisture. Plants emerge later with purple tinged foliage. Threadleaf type with excellent disease resistance. If you plant on a hot, sunny day, be sure to give plants plenty of water and be careful not to let the roots dry out in the sun. We have three new ones that show great promise. If you apply it too early, the retained warmth may cause new growth to start, resulting in severe damage to the plant. Leaf Spots: Are caused by numerous fungal (occasionally bacterial) pathogens that penetrate and kill leaf tissue. C. glomerata 'Superba' - Deep violet flowers June-Aug. 20 in. Many annuals are able to thrive without the need of grooming due to their “self-cleaning” ability. Compared to other threadleaf types, this plant has darker green foliage and is more clump forming. That does not mean that any variety of that plant is “better”. However, they may have their place in a poorly drained, shady area of your garden. Regardless of flower color, garden phlox is attractive to hummingbirds and is a good selection for inclusion in a bird garden.

This plant's buds are pink, but open as bright blue. It is one of the hardiest Agastches that may also do well up to zone 4, tolerating moist winters if planted in well drained soil. The flies have laid small white eggs on the hairy flower surface; however, there is no hope of survival for the tiny maggots that will soon hatch.
